reminds me of the days driving to Yankee Stadium and seeing all the cars on the side of the road....missing wheels, doors, hoods, no blocks or wood, etc..

Sorry buddy. GL and hope the X isn't damaged.

Sorry to hear about this. I would push for replacement of original factory wheels. That's what was stolen and that's what should be replaced. It might be different if you had aftermarket wheels like HREs or something super expensive in which case insurance companies usually don't cover unless you purchase extra coverage.

Don't let them make you accept anything other than OEM wheels.

Insurance agent will be here for the estimate tomorrow, in the meantime do you suggest doing anything to make sure no further damage occurs (as in adding something else than just the plastic crates it's sitting on) or just wait for the insurance agent.
The car is in an underground parking so i will have to install the wheels/tires once i get them any tips on how to go about it to make sure it's good, I plan on taking it to the dealer once done

i dunno if 18 is the smallest you can go but here are a few i found doing a quick craigslist search
BMW X5 RIMS+ TIRES
2006 BMW X5 18in Wheels & Michelin Tires~
2009 BMW X6 20" Wheels & Tires

This sucks and could only imagine how you feel.

I would ask the insurance company if they would like you to put stands or something to support the X and prevent further damage, but I would only do if they say to. They could always say you put the stands in wrong or some BS and caused damage.

I would settle for nothing less than original BMW wheels as thats what was stolen.

If you haven't taken pictures then do so ASAP for documenting purposes.

thanks jyosh - I like the X6 wheels too, not sure if someone had put it on their 4.8is and tested them but they say it should work.
Hit Redline - I spoke with the Insurance Agent again and he told me to leave it the way it is till he shows up for estimate.
I did some research on tirerack however i dont like any of the rims they have, however that would be one option to go for if things dont work out, in the meantime i will push to get OEM wheels and tires from the insurance company.

LemansX5 is selling a set. Look in the For Sale section. I was considering these double spokes as they're 20x10 front and 20x11 rear but not sure I like the look. I still prefer the 87s. Probably go with 87 replicas. How do you think it looks on the e53?

Leave the vehicle parked.

Get the estimates from multiple dealers for new wheels, tires, any suspension work from the dealer (because that will be the highest cost.)

Put in the claim using dealer estimates.

Take the money and buy whatever you want.
