Mr BMWX5, I've searched all of the threads started by you but I haven't been able to ascertain what brand of headlight this is. You say you implanted projector conversion into pre-facelifted headlights but these are clearly not prefacelift OEM.

Where did you pick up these snazzy headlamp units? My guess is you installed angel eyes into aftermarket headlamps. What is the brand name of the units and what angel eye kit did you install in them?

My factory units are getting cloudy and I'd like to install a new set.

I believe these are "Depo" brand headlights and can be found on eBay. They run about $630ish. I found mine on sale for $580.

Go on eBay under parts, and search "depo x5 headlights".

I've been watching ebay for some time and not seen these except for in chrome. I want the black housing. They are much cheaper than DEPO and would suit me just fine. I though I had some from parasitesingle but turns out one was cracked and I was refunded. It was the last pair they had in stock.

Chrome housing:

This one is more closer, as far as looks, to Tom's and its only $250 (black housing with clear corners).

However, make sure whatever you get are true HID projector headlights. There are HALOGEN setups but in projector HL housings out there - not sure if the one in the link above is halogen or not.

I would just PM Tom and get the info. or outright buy them from him - I bet he would sell you what you need. Also, if there's a problem Tom would probably help you out directly.

You WILL NOT find HID headlights for a X5 for less then $500. And no HID means no self level feature. So if you dont get the "good ones" you are down gradeing your X.

These headlights used to run about $1000-1400 from Dave custom angle eye but it only work for cars that doesn't came with factory xenon.
If you have factory xenon you need to swap out your stock projectors beams and self level motors along with D2S HID bulbs.
I used those headlights as i just need new lens covers then transform everything from stock headlights to that new housing and added the EBAY projectors from those headlights for the High beams.

Or buy this then paint the housing flat black.... $5 for the paint and save yourself about $100.

mrbmwx5, I just got my lights in. Chrome not Black so I intend to paint...carefully.
Any tips you can provide on how to open up the housing for the aftermarket lights? Do I bake these open as well? Also, how did you connect the angel eyes? I see an extra female plug but no additional cables were provided. Many thanks!
