Collecting data on bluetooth failures
Sorry to start a new thread on the bluetooth issue. However, I wanted to have one devoted to blue tooth failures and the possible reasons for failure. In my case, as indicated in a prior thread, I recently purchased a 2005 X5 4.4 with bluetooth. The bluetooth was working fine until I inadvertently drained the battery with a phone charger. I jump started the car, after which time the blue tooth no longer worked. At the dealer today, I was told that the module was dead, and would need to be replaced. They further indicated that the telecommunications module is known to be sensitive to power spikes, which may have happened with the jump start. In addition, I also noticed that some pixels on my radio display went out after the battery died and the car was jump started.
I'd like to collect information on how often this may happen. So, if you have had a bluetooth go out on you, or if you have lost pixels on your radio display, can you relate these events to a battery or a jump start problem? Any responses would be appreciated.
