hood protecter

i brought my x5 in for its 30,000 mile warranty service check,and while it was their i had them throw on the hood protecter,it really gave the x5 a new look, when i picked it up today i felt like i was driving it new all over again.
but i was wondering the dealer charged me $180.00 to install it.did i get ripped off

$180 for the hood protector plus installation seem normal to me. Did you get ripped off? Well to have anything done other than regular maintenance at any BMW dealer is considered a ripoff.

Yeah I personally am not a fan of the hood protector. It looks too wierd...

If I wanted my hood protected I'd probably go for the clear bra...

i got mine on ebay for 85 bucks i put it on my self it helps alot its true what primtime said it does look weird. but ill take weird over road debri destroying the hood.in my little widget pic i think you can see mine

ALOVER, thanks for the pic. Weird to the point where you regret the install? I would go for the clear bra but dont feel like spending 500 bucks.

i say weird cause i never seened a plastic hood protector go all the way around the kidney grills they actually sell two hood protectors one that goes all around the kidney grills and the other just the top quarter of the hood but it helps im happy.the intall was pretty simple did it myself i think theres a install part in one the articles here good luck in your decision right now 500 bucks is steep
