It's a free planet (sort of) so you / he can buy a Cayenne TT or a BMW equivalent getting 12 mpg sitting in traffic all day but there are practical limitations to what a super SAV can do and will do in congested Europe / US.
What I suggested is driving the 3.0 diesel and making an informed choice. What's not to understand?
