E53 Mirrors???
I have a 2002 E53 without auto fold mirrors and would like to replace my mirrors. I hate the fact that when I fold in my mirrors they don't fold in all the way. Has anyone modded their mirrors with different ones to fold in all the way or even fold upwards? Any info would be greatly appreciated. |

PROBLEMS!!
I wish I had not picked this out as an option, have had several issues with the auto fold mirrors and it costs a bundle to have them fixed. My advise would be to stick with what you have.

Cisc0 there is a retrofit guide on this forum listing the parts and procedure.
you will have to buy a new door switch assembly and the 2 new mirrors and i think the mirrors are like 300 a piece. unless ya find em at a junk yard or wholesaler. |

Hello. I don't think your original question is being addressed. You do not have nor do you necessarily want power folding mirrors. You are asking about other options which may fold in tighter. I don't have an answer for that but I know what you mean as even with power folding mirrors they stick out a little further than you'd like when retracted. I think it's because they are almost as deep as they are wide. Not sure if its worth going to different mirrors for (a la X5 LMR).
