Cargo Tray w/ flap to cover Lower Tailgate?

Gents,

I'm the proud new owner of an Alpine White over Black '05 4.4i. Last night I took the family out including our large Chocolate Lab. I noticed he's going to tear apart the interior plastic side of the lower tailgate with his nails when he jumps into the cargo area.

Is there. Cargo tray that also has a rubber piece that drapes over the lower tailgate to protect it when loading/unloading large items or dogs?

p.s. I have a modified E36 and a B5 S4 and have enjoyed the forums for those cars. Looking forward to being a part of the community here.

Welcome!

I'd be putting a blanket down anyways just to make hair cleanup easier. They make a rubber cargo tray for the floor, but it doesn't have a doggy flap that you're looking for.

I've got silightly modded E34 M5 and heavily modified E38 740iL...keepin it in the family!

Welcome

Here is one that covers the whole back area and tailgate.
Here is one that just covers the tailgate.
Also check weathertech and the various aftermarket bmw parts people (bavauto, etc), they probably have something similar.

Well lookie there! I've got a Yorkie, so the only thing I need to keep the claw marks away from is my lap!

go to Lowes and get one of those industrial floor doormats you see inside office buildings etc. The one I got is a foot too big so when our 100 lb German Shepard is there I have the overlap towards the back hence tailgate is covered when down. When dog isn't riding then leave flap towards back seats. Works great and is carpeted so sucks up hair! Throw it in driveway and you can vacuum it or if you're lazy you throw it out and get another (~$8). It's rubber on bottom so good for ski stuff, mud etc as well.
