Exhaust upgrade? which one would you buy?

Just curious...what one of these systems would you buy....being price cautious...

Stebro
Tubi
BillyBoat

All are cat back, stainless, etc....any input? Sound? Tubi and Stebro being the most the expensive and BillyBoat being the cheapest.....
for 4.4 engine...looking for a bit of sound but not too much? not sure if there is such a thing.....i was almost leaning towards billyboat...price wise and sound wasn't too bad, barely noticed....

First off, what's your goal by changing the current exhaust? Power? Sound? Coolness factor? You have a great looking X5 so be sure that you want this type of exhaust b/c it's not only NOT a cheap investment, but one you gotta live with everytime you step on the gas; that sound will follow you everywhere. And do you have the V-8 or I-6. The eight would benefit and the sound would lend itself more to performance than the six. I like it quiet b/c that was BMW's goal; to ride like a car and not a SAV and still be capable of AWD attributes. And it's nice to turn on the stereo and actually hear it without blasting it or having to shout at your passengers. In my humble opinion, there are other ways to turn heads with and X5 than just exhaust. But the ultimate call is yours. Just be sure of what you want. BTW, all these are good exhaust companies. Search around a bit more and check out BavAuto too. Good luck and keep us updated.

I have the Remus and I like it, you can't really tell the sound difference unless you are outside the car or have the windows down. The mechanic who installed it told me that was a mark of a quality exhaust. I know that statement isn't perfect but it makes sense. The tips are nice and stand out but not my personal favorite.

Edit: It's around $1300 on BavAuto.

Not Stebro. There are horror threads regarding that company on this site.

Billy Boat out of the ones you listed. Remus is good stuff too.

I'd say the Billy Boat. I bought the BB triflo for my e39 540 and love it.I will be pulling the trigger on BB for my wife's 05 X. Sounds great.

I've got the Billy Boat on my M3 and love it. 25 pounds lighter, nice throaty sound with minimal drone.

Alot of people on the 7 forums just pull the resonators or the mufflers. I've heard a 4.4 with out mufflers and its nice. Quiet until you mash it, no droning.
