Unfortunately that only works for trailers that either have no brakes or have surge brakes. Electric brakes require a 6- or 7-pin plug.

Here's the Valley part for the 7-round to 7-round adapter:

Good solution, and a good price.

It also suggests that the BMW tow wiring module uses the same Bosch electronics as VW/Porsche/Audi use.

Did anybody have these errors associated with the trailer hitch electronics module?

>CHECK BRAKE LIGHTS<
>CHECK REAR LIGHTS<

I pulled the electronic module out 2 weeks ago, my Indy cleared the codes and the next time the auto-lights came on at dusk - BING! Same problem, so it's not the trailer hitch electronics module (the one that controls the trailer's lights) it's associated with the headlights. During the day it doesn't error out.
