I used this yesterday to replace mine. That protective cover was difficult to get off. Acually i didnt get it off rather dropped the side closest to the drivers rocker panel on the ground. There a heat shield around the muffler that kept it from coming all the way off. Took a while to find the hidden bolts but now that ive done it once and seen how it comes off and goes on i coould do it in a third of the time.
I didnt have the conectors like the one in the post. Mine had crimp connectors that werent that hard to get off. http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...placement.html
