Hey daztc, , any luck finding out your problem, I have the same issue with my driver side rear window. It intermittently goes down (always goes back up). I tested the switch, took the door panel off and even took the motor apart and cleaned the brushes and still nothing. The only thing I can thing of is that the wire pulley system is somehow getting jammed?? If I just take the cover off the pulley system can I inspect the wires or is it under tension and will it it all come flying apart on me?

hi, the two pulley wires are not tension strung, one is wound around the spindle in one direction whilst the other is wound in oposite direction, however if the wires are jammed (like mine) you need to remove the spindle from the metal bar...thats the problem because the spindle is push-fitted and although it can be removed by leavering it off its impossible to push it back on...i think its a case of replacing the whole unit but without the motor,,,i've been searching e-bay etc....hope this helps
