Oxygen Sensors go within days of each other??
So I had my indy replace one oxygen sensor after the code tripped for same. He also did Inspection 2 for me due to mileage - 60k. So after driving my 2006 home, with all codes clear, the following day the SES light trips again for bad oxygen sensor. I return to my indy and he tells me that one of the other o2 sensors needs replacing. WHA!!! Is it possible he ripped me off, or that another sensor went in that little time? What indy does not check to be sure all codes are clear? Now he wants another $270 to replace the sensor. Same guy who was going to charge $400 to replace the MAF, but I told him that I would do it myself since it is a 5 minute job and a $170 part, so he said he would do it for $200 also. Do I dare go back to him for the o2, or do I call him on failure to repair the original SES light? Thanks!!!

what codes were you getting and what codes are you getting now? I think that if the codes did not change than you replaced the wrong part. If the codes are different now after changing the O2 sensor, than you probably replaced the right part. Most Indie shops do not have a GT1 computer to connect to your car and they use a accutron reader which gives you codes also. You must remember though that the codes from the accutron give a description of what is wrong but alot of times the description does not pertain to the part that needs replacing. For example, i had a code that described multiple misfires on startup. It did not point to any sensor but it could be anything. I did some research and found out that actually that code was for a CPS sensor. I hope that you actually needed an O2 sensor to begin so you paid for changing a broken part rather than paying to replace the wrong O2 sensor and now paying again to replace the broken O2 sensor.
