I also found the lights flicker when I jiggled when the ignition was on. That gave me the impression that it wasn't a bad MID. I did check to see if the MID cable would be long enough to stretch without cutting and extending but no dice. The MID cable is very much on the left side. I may have posted on bimmerforums but my heart is squarely at Xoutpost

I have a problem after installing the rear view camera. When I put the car in reverse, I need to change the source manually to TV to see the reversing video. Also sometimes the screen says NO Signal, sometimes it works. Also the camera is not capturing good image, I can see frames scrolling continuously and flickering on the screen. My car is 2003 BMW X5. Can anyone please let me know how to automatically shift to reverse video when the car is in Reverse gear? Also why it keeps loosing the signal? I have two RCA cables running from HL to camera (one was for backup), both have same issues, so cable is not a problem here. I tried changing camera as well but same result. So thinking if it is something with main HL unit itself or what. And any solution for the slow frame rate please? My camera is also purchased from HL: BMW series-Bmw Car dvd player,Mercedes-Benz navigation,Suzuki dvd,Audi Navigation System,Subaru car audio I have mounted the camera on one of the license plate bulb and and more serious problem is odometer dash shows a message to check the license plate light. When reading in this thread: http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...amera-e53.html, post: http://www.xoutpost.com/317974-post5.html the guy is talking about the resistor to the cameras power supply. Do anyone know what is that register and how it will help me to get rid of the dash error message? Thanks, Shurap1 |

No problem at all 440films and thanks for coming back and sharing that info. Hopefully this will be solved with the new DSP kit that is now being sold by allinmotion.ca. I have requested for them to put some pictures of it on their website so that customers know exactly what is in the kit. My understanding is that it includes an extension harness for the MID so no more cutting!
I hope they consider selling the kit separately because it would be useful with any aftermarket radio, not just Hualingan. They also offer an option for an external mic. Which eliminates another issue with the regular Hualingan. It seems that things just keep getting better and better for these units every day.

Hi NextGen
I checked my original unit. It is not a DSP ( as no word DSP on my unit). Thanks, Quote:

Have your iinstaller connect another radio to your harness and see if any sound come out. If it does, then more than likely you have a bad unit. Where did you purchase it?

I think you connected to the wrong input. Hualingan comes with video input and the backup camera input (labeled Back). Connect it to the wire labeled "Back" and it should work. The error message is probably expected since the new light is LED. I guess you need to cancel that with a resistor.

I agree with NextGen although I haven't seen a broken Hualingan yet but it's possible and that's an easy way to check if the audio amp is still working. The other thing you should check if the original radio works, check the power antenna voltage and let us know. I suspect that the amp is not turning on.

Hi NextGen:
Thank you so much for the reply and big help. It was given to me as a gift by a good friend. He bought it in ebay. He passed to me the selle'rs email address and I was asking for the diagram and the seller is helpful and email to me the diagram. Quote:
