update: ride was in the shop for the last 3 weeks getting repainted... BMW Collision in Freeport is doing the work. Checked it out last week and some more color blends needed to be done. The entire right side and bumpers and fenders and hood and trunk were repainted. They decided to repaint the entire left side and be done with it...

One thing i noticed is that the metallic in the new paint is more concentrated than the factory paint and this caused a noticeable difference if not blended properly.

Should have it back sometime this week.

Question: Does a repaint lower the resale value of a vehicle?

Given the extent of your situation unfortunately it will hurt your resale value. That is usually one of the first questions from a used car buyer. An excellent condtion- no paintwork vehicle will sell at a higher premium than one that has had work done. I went through it with my ZHP sale. I personally took 2K less than what I wanted because of this.

When you do decide to sell, be honest with the buyer. Tell them what happened, because if they find out it is painted on their own they may think it was in an accident--better off just being painted

got the ride back and Hassel Collision did a wonderful job!!.. Its like a brand new X... The entire vehicle was basically painted over so that where will be no issues with color blends...

i am now a bit paranoid to drive it... lol...
