Final Stage Resistor is hot, not working, 2nd try here

Over the summer I went to the dealer and bought a replacement FSR. It didn't work. Took it out and put the old one in and it was fine. Once again the fan blower went out. I still had the part from the dealer. Popped out the old and in went the new. No luck. Tried my old trick of putting back the old one and it didn't work either. They both get very hot, is this normal? I am assuming key out of ignition when doing this. I assumed I may have reset the old one the last time but do not remember how I did it or if it was dumb luck.

Could I have had a bad resistor from the dealer? If so, where can I order one and have it overnighted to me?
