X5 (and Waverunner) vs Bambi

I was driving up to a friends cottage when Bambi decided to play frogger across the highway. Bambi lost (with presumably a broken hip) against the X5 with the Waverunner in tow. The X is suffering from a broken nose

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be driving at 60mph, but the deer was smaller and I just clipped him on the passenger side of the front end.

Visual Damage
Hood: Bent near the kidneys
Passenger Light Housing: Clips broken and getting a "Check Highbeam Light" message from the computer
Bumper: Cracked
Headlamp Washers: Broken with cracked tubing
Fog Light: Working, but no idea what condition it's in
Frame: I can tell that the extended frame support pieces for the lights, latches and other support is bent

I'm going to take to the shop the dealer recommends and a buddy of mine to see what the recommendations they have for repairs.

Sorry to hear about that. While you're at it, I'd order the 4.8is bumper as a replacement!

And Bambi scores!

Man, that really sucks! Here in West Virginia, the deer are everywhere. We just bought a new 2010 Subaru and my newly purchased X5. I went on eBay and looked up deer whistles/warnings. I found some that are made in Iowa, USA and are recommended by their state police for deer deterent.
They are barely visible on my vehicles and I hope I never have to find out if they really work or not. But everyone reading this might want to think about get a set. I bought enough for three vehicles and the shipping was free and the more you buy, the cheaper the cost.

re: the 4.8 bumper, is that going to mess with the wheel trim? Meaning, will I need to buy the wider fender flares to match? ....then the the widers tires and 4.8 rear bumper?

It's a fantastic idea as long as I don't need to do additional add ons.

Nope. Nothing else will needed to be done. It'll look great!

the rear fender flare is really your choice, it'll look good even if u dont put that rear flare on. They are not "connected" in anyway.

As for fender flares, not needed at all

...an update, $5300 in damage. State Farm quoted replacement parts for everything but the hood. I'll probably take advantage of getting some recycled parts since I was paid out.
