Help, front passenger carpet removal advice plz...
My passenger footwell had water infiltration during a rainstorm that left the padding under the carpet saturated. I am trying to remove the entire carpet piece to let it dry out properly. I removed the seat and sidetrim that holds the carpet down by the door, but... I am not able to remove the side of the carpet that is tucked under the center console. Is there a trick to removing that part of the carpet? I can't figure it out. Removing the entire center console would do the trick, but that seems overkill. Then again, this is a BMW ![]()

Unfortunately the carpet is one solid piece across the front. The only real trick there is would be to remove the console and cut the carpet up the middle, and cable tie it back together afterwords. But it is tough to finish cutting it up under the dash to get it out.
My suggestion would be to just leave the carpet in and prop it up as best you can to get under the foam with towels to squeeze as much water as you can out then put a nice strong fan blowing under there overnight to finish drying it out.

That sucks!
Thanks Weasel. That explains why it wouldn't budge. Funny thing was that, after I un-bolted the seat and saw that the front and back carpets were separate I though to myself: "at least BMW designed the carpets to be easily removed..." HAH!!!
