Help,front passenger carpet removal advice plz...

Hi all,
My passenger footwell had water infiltration during a rainstorm that left the padding under the carpet saturated. I am trying to remove the entire carpet piece to let it dry out properly. I removed the seat and sidetrim that holds the carpet down by the door, but...
I am not able to remove the side of the carpet that is tucked under the center console. Is there a trick to removing that part of the carpet?

I can't figure it out. Removing the entire center console would do the trick, but that seems overkill. Then again, this is a BMW
