Just wanted to bump this thread as I am experiencing this problem now...just started noticing the other day...

Headed to my mechanic on Thursday morning to have him take a look at it...with mention the IAC, Oil Separator Hose & Transmission Software...

If it is any consolation, I still have the same surge/jerk problem several months and miles later. It only happens in 5th gear no matter what the selector position. I have felt it at 65mph after leaving the shifter in M5 accidentally. The good news is that I was able to buy an aftermarket warranty that will covery anything trans related even if it is pre-existing. All I had to do was wait 30 days before the policy took effect. I might get it to the dealer after my daughter graduates college next week.

My mechanic searched and really found nothing...he cleared the adaptations and it disappeared for about an week and my wife is now saying it is back...I'm going to drive it to the gym tonight to see if it is really back but just wanted to inform that the software adaptations seem to have something to do with mine, at least for now...

Your in-line with everyone else. Most people are very excited when they get them cleared and the problem seems to have been fixed. And once the computer relearns your driving habits It goes back to normal operation, and your torque converter slips..... Again.

I've been there.
