Vredestein Sessanta Tires Feedback - Bad

I think some on this forum have opted for Vredestein Sessanta tires on their X5 as I have regretfully done. It's a summer only tire and my rears are already spent after only 8K miles of only summer seasonal driving - mostly highway and very light use by my wife.

Anyway, for those thinking of buying the Vredestein Sessanta Ultratrac - Don't!

Ron

Nope. Bought these solo through a tire distributor in 2009.

Did you get an alignment done when you installed the Vreds? If so, are you positive the alignment was done properly (with weights) and tire pressures were correct for the life of the tires?

Yeah, 4 wheel, + the balance. The wear is fairly uniform and I'm good about maintaining pressures. The tires look cool, rode nice and the fronts are still ok with more meat left. Odd though after doing some searching on the forum I see others have had similar wear issues. Maybe just too soft a compound for the X5?

Yeah, if everything was set correctly 8k is way too short of a lifespan, imo.

I had a pair on the rear for about 10K and used them till they were smooth. The fronts still looked good so I splurged for another set for the rear. This time I got a full balance at the stealership and they noticed my ride hieght was a little low on one side. They corrected everything for $200 and I can tell they are wearing a little better. Still after 5K i already wore through only layer (outside notch on Tire) and figure I have about 8k left. My fronts are 15K in and they have more tread then my rears with only 5k!! Its crazy how fast they wear out. I will admit they are best looking tire for the 4.6 in my opinion!!!!

Still a good tire while they work from a performance standpoint. Does suck if they are only good for 8k, we'll see. If I was after longer wear I would have gone with the Conti DWSs with their 540 wear rating. Sprocket, I'm not sure what tire you are comparing these to. Pricewise they were about half the cost of Diamaris.
