Can somone tell me whats required to upgrade to the latest version please. Im aware that a CD is required from BMW for the latest maps but not sure about how to go about the firmware software if required Thanks in advance |

A software upgrade disc is required and can be bought cheaply on the web (along with new compatible map discs). Turn on ignition to position 1. When the nav has booted up, take out your map disc. Load the upgrade disc, the upgrade will take place automatically and will eject the disc when complete (about 6 mins). Then re-load your map disc - done!

Do a search on google for BMW maps. You need to know which Sat Nav model you have . Mk's 1, 2 and 3 as far as I know were CD based and the Mk 4 is DVD based.
BMW started fitting the Mk 4 in 2005 I think. I have just upgraded my 55 plate E53 to version 32 software and 2010 maps. £36.50 inc p+p and next day delivery Gives speed camera alerts and Night Mode + perspective (3D ) view ( bit fiddly to turn it on ) and 7 digit post code entry ( VERY fiddly to use - but it does work ) Last edited by TerryJenk; 09-23-2010 at 08:01 AM. Oh well ! I was a bit dubious about putting web addresses on an open forum.
Got mine from www.bmw-maps.co.uk Good service Last edited by TerryJenk; 09-25-2010 at 03:01 AM. Reason: correction |
