4.6is 2002 transm lag

I know that some of u guys had this problem ....transmission lag ..lurch?! ...when I on/off the gas pedal ,any speed,I feel transm engaging and also when I come to a full stop feel like rear ended.......HOW DID U GUYS FIXED IT ...IF U DID? I fear that if I continue to drive w/ this issue I might have to replace the drive shaft and trasfer case again thank u !

The car likes to be driven hard. So I recommend just under threshold braking when coming to a stop - every time. OK, just kidding, but it happens a lot less if you brake just a bit more aggressively almost to the point that it rarely happens to me any more. It's something about the Alpina tuning, because my 740i doesn't do that at all - not even close, and yet it's the same trans.

problem fixed.....the front left axle ( aftermarked) was the culprit...it was lose ...cheap crap

?? how can an axle be loose? It is a spline press fit, it can't get loose unless the splines weren't made properly or something....

Had the same with my 4.4i. Turned out to be the transmission leaking oil. Had to replace the sump gasket, and refil. Sorted out the problem. Transmission smooth again.
