Thumbs up The value of sites like these cannot be overstated.

My new (to me) 05 X5 has (had) an issue with the left mirror. When I hit reverse, it would tip down, then up, then down, and then stop halfway. When I shifted back to drive, it would come up a bit, but not return to the right position. I ran a search here and found a thread about the topic. One poster here suggested to the OP, who had the same problem, to set his mirror where he wanted it, then set the seat memory, then get out and lock the X5 with the key in the door lock. That was to set the memory position to the key. I tried this procedure and it worked like a charm. Saved me a trip back to the dealer.
