Great information fullmetaljacket - will do the same. Thank you a ton for that information, I always wanted to do that but had no idea how.

2 more questions:

Is it an easy task to change the small bulbs?
You state it costed you $120 .. why?

Ebay states for 30 pieces:

Item you're buying:10 White SMD 1 LED T5 For Car Dashboard Light Bulb Lamp
Buy It Now price: US $3.99
Quantity: 3
Subtotal:US $11.97
Shipping and handling:To Austria -- Free -- Standard Int'l Shipping.

Helmuth - Thanks. TO answer your questions:

2 more questions:

Scale of 1-5 with 5 being the most difficult, this task is only a 2. Though, it requires you to have very thin fingers OR a pair of chopsticks OR a thin durable rod to pull out and push the bulb receptacle back in their specific holes. The headlight assembly is deep and the bulb's receptacles go all the way in. It is impossible to have 2 fingers in the 2 major openings of the assembly.

The bulbs here cost me P250.00 (Philippine Peso - US$1.00 = PHP50.00) each which is about US$5.00 each. You need 24 pcs because there are 4 angel eyes that need 6 bulbs each. Therefore, 24 pc x US$5.00 = US$120.00. The bulbs I got are expensive. Had I known what type I needed, I would have ordered though ebay. But come to think of it, if I did not go to that particular store, I wouldn't have known that there was a simple way to convert to white LED Well US$120.00 (for me) still beats the price and complications of a CCFL Angel Eyes upgrade.

Hope this helps.

@fullmetaljacket,

Thanks for the prompt reply. Did you manage to take a picture like 3rd one in post #3 i.e. a daylight shot? Currently in the process of getting the Depo's...

Cheers

@fullmetaljacket,

will soon receive my LEDs and have additional questions to you which I am sure you can answer very easy

I assume I will have to remove my Depos in order to be able to put the LEDs in?
How did you manage to overcome the problem that normal bulbs do not have a polarity but LEDs do have one?

Looking forward to an answer.

Thanks in advance,

H

So sorry for the delay. I've been away on a family emergency.

When I took out the whole harness of the T bulbs inside the headlight assembly, I plugged the wiring harness to a 12volt converter so that I can do a trial and error inserts on the bulb receptacles while the harness is still outside the headlight assembly.

When all of the LEDS were lit up, I simply plugged them all back in the holes inside the assembly. As I mentioned, you will be needing a rod or a set of chopsticks to push them all back in their respective holes.

I hope this helps.

Sorry for the delayed response. Never had the chance to come home during broad daylight this past few days I finally got the chance to take pictures this weekend so here goes...

Took the pictures in broad daylight around 2 PM where the sun is high...

Not that noticeable

From a distance still on broad daylight...

Definitely not as bright as the CCFL types but I'm happy with them. ....for the meantime

Hope this helps powers1.

oh by the way the previous pictures with the amber angel eyes were taken at 5PM when the sun was setting...

Hm, I already have the LEDs here but not sure if I should put them in. They seem to be very visible as 6 single points - not really looking like angel eyes any more (no offense fullmetaljacket)......... But I now have all winter to think about it since it is snowing and we have ~2-3 feet now.

Hahaha I know what you mean but for now I really like the white lights specially when I only turn them on at sundown time. They also match my white LED courtesy and interior lights which I've upgraded a few days ago I'll stay with white lights for the meantime
