good luck with that!!
most 18's won't clear the brakes. I have a set of 18's from an X3 that I still need to sell btw.... Anyway - didn't clear the factory wheel weights, and even if I moved those it had maybe 2mm of clearance. That didn't seem like a very good winter set-up for the sierra storms I go chase...

They are likely to fit just fine but they will be a bit light for the X. Probably better to 18s off an X. The tires will be way too short.

This guy put 18" wheels but it was close. Doesn't look like he ran staggered though.
http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/...ter-setup.html Do a search and I'm sure you'll come up with different combinations. You can just test fit the Z4 wheels and see how it goes. If they fit, then just run the same size tires on your staggered wheels. Just because you have staggered wheels doesn't automatically mean you have to run different sized tires. Good Luck! |

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll take a look at each of the suggestions and how it plays out. I'd love to just be able to slap a higher profile winter tire on the rims like the guy from the above mentioned post. Guess we'll see if the lug pattern matches up and then go from there. May be cheaper to just buy a set like Tri suggested since I know at least two of the rims need a bit of repair and straightening anyway. I'll update later on down the road with my outcome. Thanks again gang.

57s will work
My rears were a bit ragged when I bought the car so I slapped on the 58s for a day on one occasion and they worked fine. I suspect any 18" X5 wheel works as I have seen quite a few 4.8s in Germany run different styles in 18" for the winter time, (winter tires are near obligatory in S. Germany).
This weekend I will replace my 315s and clean up the 20s so I will be trying the M3 18s on the 4.8 for the day. If the sale of my 58s this weekend falls through I might have them back up for sale. Last edited by TriX5; 10-12-2010 at 11:37 AM. Reason: Typo, should say 58s, not 57s |
