The first thing I would do is the resonator delete or the mufflers delete. Every time I start up the X and that growl snaps - I love it!
... resonator delete or muffler delete? Please tell me more. Where do I find more info on this mod. Does it wake the neighbors?

no waking the neighbors unless you like to mash the gas when leaving your house. leave your cats and mufflers on. get a crossover pipe, stainless. cut out the resonator. get pieces of pipe and adapters, weld in a cross over pipe. get on it and enjoy the sound... made mine sound like i actually had a v8

Just find you a good indy muffler shop that nows what a resonator delete is. I think it cost me around $40 to do my E46 and took about a half hour. No annoying loud vehicle, it just makes the kittens growl a little meaner. Worth every penny IMO and I can't to hear how it makes the V8 X5 sound.

not the best pics but you get the idea. i then used the existing hanger to hold it up and warped it with headder wrap. looks pretty good after that.
