The Rides - The Questions

First - The Rides!!

Imola Red 2003 X5 4.6 is (THXKNUT) A blank canvas ready for some upgrades.

Alpine White 2002 330i (KNUT) Modded to the gill.

For the X5, need a headlight upgrade ASAP!!!! Advice please.
The inboard tail lights are faded and almost pink, need replacing.
And I need advice about what to do about no iPod connection. Dice or upgrade the whole GPS head unit.

For the 330i - Nothing.

Welcome to the forum.

For headlights, look into the depos. I'm not sure but I think they are projector HLs.

Not quite clear on the tail light problem. What's turning pink? Anyways, you could upgrade them to LED tails.

You could upgrade interior and/or exterior lights to LEDs. Like the side turn markers or license plate light.

You could add a rear spoiler lip.

You can replace the exhaust or do a resonator delete and add an x-pipe. Or better yet, remove the mufflers instead and leave the resonator.

You could lower your X with some lowering springs.

You could do a roof rail delete and even rear wiper delete.

Otherwise your X looks great already, especially with the 87s.

Have a look at some of the Articles and Tips&Tricks from the homepage for ideas.

For the electronic stuff, I have no idea. Try a search in the Mobile electronics forum too.

Good luck!

Wow, there is life in these forums!

Thanks for the reply TwinsPoppa, I too am a Twins Pop - Girls - 16 - God Help Me!!!!

Depos eh? That is the first and most mandatory. I'm finding upgrades are much harder to find compared to the E46 upgrades.

The lenses on the rears are fading.

I will look into the rest.

Thanks!!!!

leave the rails and rear wiper... get red bimmer roundels, black out the grills and remove the resonator.

with that one there maybe blacked out lights and such??? dunno. depos are definetly a good choice. i've had a set for over a year or so and they still look brand new and really updated the look of my X.

For the record, this is also my preference but wanted to give him his options.

The first thing I would do is the resonator delete or the mufflers delete. Every time I start up the X and that growl snaps - I love it!

Tonycajjo,

The lights on your ride definitely stand out. Do you know if I'd have to do any upgrade or would they be plug & play. Do they come with 6K AE's or do you have to add those.

I did the resonator delete on my E46 so YES, I know what a great mod that is.

i had to add a relay and HID ballast since i came from the stock halogens. if you have the HIDs i think you should be all set to plug in the new ballast in place of the old ones if you decided to buy new ones... or i'd imagine you can reuse the old ballasts.

i bought on ebay and gotten the guy to put 6K lights instead of 4,700 or 5k most places will work with you on that. or maybe i have 5700? i dont remember but they are white not yellow by any means.
