Language on dash has just turned French but Main screen English

Hi all

I am actually going to answer my own thread here just to help somebody else out.

Yesterday when I got in my car the language on the display (underneath the Speedo & Rev counter) had turned French even though the main screen language stayed English.

So, today I texted the guy who sold me a recent update for my GPS screen. He replied and asked me had I recently turned off Speed Camera Alerts. I said yes and he told me to turn Speed Camera Alerts back on.

Did as he told me.....

Everything is now back to normal.

So it assumes you are French if you don't care about speed cameras?

The speed camera notification is really annoying as when you turn it off it changes the language too!

Is there away around this?

speed camera alerts are very annoying when you are not speeding .
I would switch off the alerts and learn to understand French .
au hau hee hau .

Go to BMW and buy the original discs for about £200, at £200 for the discs learning to read French does not seem that bad.
