Possibly a pinched wire in the steering wheel behind the airbag? Is the center of the wheel sitting straight, or does it looked cocked a bit?

My x5 started beeping on its own today when driving over little bumps on the Highway or sometimes just turning the wheel into a parking spot,But on the highway i have to hit the steering wheel or give it a little tug from top, bottom or sides to stop...What is it? Bad or dirty connector??? Help.

I'd probably start by removing the airbag in the center of the steering wheel to check the stuff out behind it, make sure all the catches are intact and springs in place etc. Just do it with the key off to avoid airbag light and be really careful with the airbag connectors as they will break if not released properly.

Thanks Weasel, took to indy, cause i heard something bouncing around in there,it turned out to be loose screw which came from under the steering wheel trim. No Charge...Woohoo.
