wow. So I had a Audi S4 Avant, 6speed for 3 years. I needed a larger vehicle for family road trips and hauling music equipment, so after selling a Suburban last year I ended up with a 4.6is. I kept both cars for about 10 months but finally realized they were just too similar. So I sold the S4 and picked up a C6 Corvette to serve as my primary daily driver. Boy - what a tough choice tho between the 4.6is and the S4. The X5 just worked better for my practical needs - more space for passengers and cargo. I can carry a lot more musical equipment in the X5 vs. the S4 which is something that comes up quite often for me. Also works out good for the wife who needs a vehicle with good space for 3 in the backseat. SUV's just work out better in that area vs. cars. S4 is a rather small car too. At this point I don't really miss my S4, and I still totally dig the X5. FWIW.

I was itching to get a manual for a while and was out in CA on vacation when I saw this 04 S4 for sale with 8k miles! It already had rims and a coilover suspension, it was a 3rd vehicle for the orig owner. I felt like I couldn't pass it up! Drove it back to FL, not that bad of a trip.

I've had both cars 6 months now, haven't driven the X5 much. I was thinking maybe keep the S4 another 6 months, put all the miles on that, then sell it.

Part of me wants to keep the X5 for a long time.

Love the color of yours by the way!

thanks. Me too. I always wanted a estoril E36 M3, but this is a pretty nice option too.

Really depends on your needs. For me the X5 was a no brainer over the S4. Although I must say the S4 was a better ski season vehicle. X5 has a lot more space tho and is much more versatile as a utility vehicle. Still, the S4 - 6speed is an excellent car and 8K miles is an amazing find. Can't go wrong either way to be honest!!
