What to use to clean the sludge from the transmission pan and filter housing???

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows what I can use to clean the sludge from the transmission filter housing and pan... I am about to drop the pan but I want to make sure I have the right cleaning tools... will break cleaner be ok for the pan? what about the filter housing and solenoids..?

No, it is generic. I always used Chevron, but I had a family supplier. There are various grades, but any stoddard solvent/mineral spirit product will do. You are just cleaning with it.

Anything that will clean and not leave a residue such as isoprophyl alcohol. Use a lint free cloth or lint free paper towel.
