Need advice on tires ASAP, please!

The vehicle: 2006 X5 4.8is. 245/40-20 and 315/35-20.

I need tires NOW! My choices are both under $1,000 for a full set.

#1: Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport; or #2: Continental ExtremeContact DWS.

Since I live in Houston, snow is not an issue. Yet, the reviews say the DWS tires are very quiet.

Driving habits: I drive fast; no off-road and appearance is somewhat important.

Please give me your opinions as quickly as possible. I'd like to order these tires nlt tomorrow morning.

Thanks,

Bruce

I've read nothing but positive reviews on the Continental ExtremeContact DWS. I believe they offer a DW version. Unfortunately I don't have experience with either. Just read a lot of reviews on the DWS as I was considering them for my X5 (would have purchased them had I not come across a great deal on four Yokohomos).

I'd choose the Bridgestone - have the Dueler H/L Alenza's on my X5 - and they are very quiet, have lasted 30K so far and are probably good for another 7 to 10K miles. We've had the Bridgestone's on our prior X5 and also a similar tire on our BMW 323i. Great tires!

Im partial to the Perrillies, but that just me. I have had the Duelers and they seemed just fine. Lasted 35K if I remember correct.

Yes but will they handle the OP's driving habits. He posted he drives fast. I personally drive my X hard in the corners so a i need a sticky tire. I am not a fan of duelers.

DWSs seem like a good tire from what I've read and the Duelers definitely have plenty of fans here. As stated before, I'm happy with my Vreds (<$1k as well) but they won't last as long.

What do you run? I was kind of thinking the same thing.
