20" tire pressure
I just bought a set of 20" rims and tires from a member on xoutpost, I am wondering what the correct tire pressure should be? The tire size is 275/40/20. The shop that put them on for me (with the correct hub centric rings) inflated them to 40psi and told me this it the best pressure since they are low profile tires etc but I am not sure I buy it. Anyone? Does anyone with factory 20" rims have the BMW pressure settings on the inside of their door? Thanks!

I don't have 20" tires myself, but regardless, the correct pressure is 32 psi all around, for a load of up to 4 passengers, and it isn't dependent on the tire size. You can go up to 39 psi on the rears, with 32 on the fronts, if you are loaded right up to the GVW rating, but that does reduce the area of the contact patch.
Some owners want a harder ride, and so increase it past the recommmended pressures. I have seen 33 to 35 referenced in other posts. I always kept my X5 at 32 psi.

Go with 32psi all around as JCL indicated. Your tire size is not the OEM 4.6is/4.8is size, but you can find the tire pressures on the inside of your door jamb (it has all the sizes and pressures).
