I want to thank everyone you tried to help me with my problem. So here is what happened. Didn't realized this until I towed it to my mechanic. The problem was my wife turned the key in the car that morning to listen to the radio while putting our Christmas lights on outside. Well instead on turning it to the 1 position she turned it to the 2 position which turns everything on besides the engine. So after an hour she had to go to the store and the x5 shut itself down. This has never happened to us before so we tried everything to figure it out without success. The nav screen kept coming up with a code and a countdown timer for 10 minutes. Well after spending money to tow it, my mechanic let the timer go to zero and the x5 just reset itself and everything came on and the car started right up. Wow, i just realized the x5 is smarter than me!!!! So it wasn't the battery nor the alternator nor a rely switch, just a plain security feature that made me feel like such an idiot. Should of looked in the owners manual. So to anyone that may have this come up hope this helps!!
