spare tire

i have a 2002 4.4i with 19' stagerred wheels,i bought a new pair of 20' stagered wheels, can i use the original spare tire (i think is 17' or 18') with this wheels thnx

You don't say what tires, what size, and what condition of tread wear.

Yes, you can use the original 17" (or 18") spare tire, if the rolling circumference is the same as the tires you have installed. It will look temporary, but that doesn't matter. It won't handle the same, so don't push it to the limit. The transfer case can only handle a few % difference in rolling circumference.

Use a tire calculator online to determine the effective rolling circumference for the specific tires you are using.

the 20' wheels have bridgestone dueler hp 275 40 20 front 315 35 20 rear and the spare tire is the original one for 255 55 19 front 285 50 19 rear,

That is a 5% difference, which is pushing it.

the 17 / 18 / 19 inch tyres are all around 695 revs per mile

so there is not a great difference

the spare listed for 20 inch is a space saver 155/80 R 19 on a alloy rim . at 701 revs per mile .

My tire calculator puts the 19" tire listed above at 667, a 5.1% difference.

thnx for all the info but still im confused if i can use the spare tire wich is 17 or 18 for 20
