Wheel Overspray (Tire Dressing)

I just wanted to know what most of you do about this problem. Whenever I spray tire dressing on my tires, I get some overspary on my wheels. What products are out there to avoid this? About 5 years ago I bought something from Murrays Auto Parts that was like a plastic garbage can lid that you could cut to fit the size of your wheels. They have since discontinued this product. What else is out there?

The best thing is a soft brush with lots of bristles on the head that you can spray your tire dressing on and apply with the brush or another applicator where you can apply the product with direct contact as opposed to spraying it on. An old sponge works good, but a rag will wick the product away and not push it towards the surface when you squeeze it like a sponge will.

Find the most viscous prod you can; there are dozens out there. Apply by hand/pad as opposed to spraying. Give tires a wipe to remove excess...Less is more, imo.

Let sit for a few hours or overnite. You should see very little spray toss from the tires.
Prod-wise, there are a plethora of less "flingy" prods out there...the simple cheap spray on crap is for car washes, imo.

Got to get me some of that. I have been spraying on a rag, and I like the looks of this much better! Thanks.

At most auto stores they sell a curved sponge...just pour whatever you're going to use on the sponge and then apply...pull car forward eight inches and then reapply. Make sure there are no drips.....jmo...Hell, If I apply some now it will just freeze right up! stupid winter.........
