Angry UK 54 Plate X5 Passenger Side Speaker Issue

I have an issue with the passenger side speakers on my 54 Plate X5 (built in SAT Nav and TV system). Initially the sound periodically cut out and then came back. Now the passenger side speakers have stopped working all together (Driver side still working fine). Any ideas on what the cause may be?

George

Loose or broken wire or burnt out speakers. You need to remove complete door trim and have a look....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StqEyMe2DU

Its probably your radio module located near the spare tire. My x5 had the exact symptoms. They would pop and go on and off and pretty soon all the speakers in one door (3 speakers total) would go out the SAME time. That indicates that it probably isnt a speaker issue as they dont all burn out the same second. Your radio module is dropping channels at a time. In your case two channels are dropped since all your right side speakers went out

You might want to locate someone who has a x5 and see if you can test out your system with their radio module. If all your speakers come back on then you be prepared to drop $400 on a new radio module, or you can locate a used one
