I have the great random alarm problem in my 03 4.6 hence the post at 3am lol. I was searching the topic and it seems to be the hood switch. How can I disable or turn it off? Thanks in advance

Unplug it. If you do a search you will find a thread with pictures of where it is mounted, if you need them.

they are easy to replace. I think the part was $20 or $25

hey just wanted to say that you dont have to replace them. I took mine apart and its a simpel problem. there is a U shaped metal contacts the pin that slids up and down has a metal bottom. So when in open its touching....when the pin is down its not suppos to touch so all you have to do is pinch the U mental to a more in ward almost like turning a U into an A so the U tips should be pinched so then touch like a A so after youo do this the will no longer touch the metal contacts unless the hood is opened in which case the poin goes up and pushes them to touch the metal contacts on the inside. it just over time the become expanded and touch the contacts just need to pinch them wiht needle nose pliers and its good to go.
