FYI: SES In Reverse ONLY!

I had an annoying SES for a while: Every time I reversed the light would pop with "Adaptive Limit" codes.
Clear the codes and drive and as soon as I reversed up she popped again. Turned out to be the DISA Valve.
The stupid little flap was swinging around free and my guess is when I reversed it affected the mixture to such an extent that the light was popped.

Good thing you caught on to it! If the steel pin that forms the top pivot gets loose, it finds it's way into the combustion chamber and makes all kinds of boo-boos. The kind that destroys your motor. Cool concept, bad design on the disa. I pulled the flap off a year ago and haven't gotten around to replacing it.I'm thinking about going the German Auto Solutions route, and putting in their hardware. My guess is that I'm missing out on some torque and performance by not having it on there. Anybody know?

I am noticing a big difference since replacing the valve. Seems to be much smoother again on take up and to have more low end torque.
