headlight bulb replacement 01 X5

I've searched this forum but can't really find an answer about replacing a standard headlight bulb on an 01 without sport package or adaptive headlights. Does anyone know if this is a simple straightforward job? Any tips on doing this?

so you have the halogen bulb, not xenon, right?

I just replaced a xenon bulb, there is a cover behind the headlight held on there with 3 torx bolts. I'd bet the halogen is same cover just different guts. You just remove the cover and then you have access to the bulb.

Which side? You may need to remove a few things to get access to the cover.

Problem solved. Very simple....just grab the back of the bulb socket and twist slightly and it pops right out. The bulb just pulls out of the socket for easy replacement. I've been putting it off because it's been so cold and I wasn't sure how long it would take. Bulb was $10.28 at local parts store. Hope this helps someone else with the same problem.
