You're absolutely right sir. We both are. The wheel itself sits more outboard to the strut relative to stock, but with that specific tire (overall) the "package" sits more inboard on the strut side as you said.

Sometimes aggressive wheel fitments should include tire chosen. Honestly that should be done as a general rule and I did not include that in the first post. (Perhaps because I knew it worked with that tire and just included the wheel offset info as an fyi.) Again, thank you for the catch on the tire.

I did a bit of thinking on the whole 315/35 on 10.5" wheel thing last night. This combo (in smaller wheel diameters) can be seen in a lot of rear fitments for muscle cars in the states. Some of these guys have issues with center wear, and some of them stepped back to a 305/15 or 295/40 on the 10.5". Some of them played with lower pressures but saw cupping on the tire. Some of them had their wheels widened to 11". For us, there aren't any 305/15 tires available that I know of, but there are 295/40's. However, this requires not staggering as what would you match on the front 9.5" wheel to a 295/40 on the back? 265/45 might be too narrow on the 9.5". Then there's the speedo correction (would read 2.1% too slow). But, I've heard rumor that our clusters read a touch too fast. I would love to find verification on that. Could kill a few birds with one stone, you know? (Contact patch, even tire wear, speedo calibration). The E70's got 10" and 11" wheels. IMHO, I think that was the reason why.

Time will tell on these new tires if center wear is an issue again. The above pictures show the Michelin Diamaris, I am now using Bridgestone Dueller HP Sport non-rft. (Which have a wider section width than the Michelin's, so that could lead to accelerated center wear, but that contradicts the good reviews that I read on wear and tire life.)
