mine was exactly "COFFEE" i wiped out inside with hot/wet towel waited like 5min and it worked. i knew it was coffee because lock button was really sticky. lock buttons should be attach in side doors!!

It probably is. Knowing BMW electrics, you could switch on the wipers one morning and a back wheel might drop off !

Everything's interconnected on these machines. The MAF is connected to the exhaust pipe and the vanity mirror is connected to the ABS sensor ..... for some crazy reason.

Just kidding of course .... or maybe I'm not but don't know it .....

It could be worse, it could have been Peugeot electrics

If you spill coffee on a switch, chances are you take it out and clean it might work. If not it might have shortened a circuit and blown the fuse.
