It may be as simple as a frozen door lock. Is it cold there?
If not, you have to take apart the door and change the carrier

It's below freezing here and I did wash the car yesterday afternoon. The car set all night while she was at work.

Mine does the same thing every time I wash it during cold weather. Really freaked me out the first time as the door popped open as I backed out of the driveway!

typical - usually disappears once the car warms up - more prevalent in older cars where the moisture gets past the seals, then freezes overnight - but I have driven with one hand holding the door closed until it would latch
