low idle

Hi folks,
Lately I've been noticing a very low idle. The 2006 X 4.4i feels like up and down in engine noise when at complete normal temperature. But when the car is cold the low idle is not felt.

I've tried everything, clean gas, gas/fuel system cleaner, new plugs, new air filter, brand new oil change.. the tech at the bmw dealer tells me the X usually has a very low idle and is very sensitive - i don't buy that.

Being such an expensive engineering, the idle at the least should be nominal and should not let this happen.

thanks for any input.
