Air Bag Light Reset

Greetings all,

After removing the passenger seat to fix a rattling noise I stupidly did not disconnect the battery terminal and upon re-assembling and turning X on SRS light came on and stayed on. Does anyone in the NYC area have a Peake R5/SRS or GT1 to reset my air bag light. I will pay for your services, I just don't want to pay the dealer for this.

Or, If you can point me to an indy that can just reset my light for a decent price I can pay that also.

Thanks in advance.

I accidentally unplugged my airbag when replacing window regulator. While having my cluster replaced I asked them to reset light. They were going to charge me for diagnostics even after I told them what I did. Didn't even ask how much it was. I've just been living with it.

I believe when the light is on certain parts of the SRS system are disabled. So living with it is not really an option.
If the $tealer wants $100+ for a simple "turn off" of the light then buy a Peake SRS tool and do it yourself. They only cost around $120 or so and you'll always have it.

Check your local BMW Club's Toolbox.
The New Jersey Chapter has the Peake R5/SRS.

Bay Diagnostics in BK did it for me during a maintenance visit. Cost me Free99. They probably would do it for a nominal fee if you pay them a visit.
