1986 Ford Taurus. Dad's hand-me-down in 1997. Loved that car. Still swear it was way ahead of its time. Power everything, remote door entry, lcd speedometer, power heated seats. Car ran like a beast until I blew the head. Didn't have enough money to fix it right away. Instead, got around to it 6 months later and the motor was covered in 'honey'. I didnt have the time or knowledge then to rebuild it. Dad donated it.

Isambard is an unknown quantity at this point
Some of you guys might not know what one is, but it was 1987 and I was 16 (here in the UK we don't get our licences until we're 17), so yes I was a law-breaking rebel!!

I bought a 1967 Triumph 1500 for £55. Just by parting with £55 and owning a car I had become a man! Complete rustbucket, but at 16 getting 65 out of it in 3rd then struggling to get to 90 in 4th was pure adrenalin-making your whole body rock back and forth to 'motion' the car faster... Oh dear! And the fact I didnt even have a licence/passed my test just added to the thrill.

I'd like to say that some of you guys' first cars are amazing! Pure american grunt! Back then we didn't even know what a V6 was let alone a V8!!

1969 VW Bug, white with red interior and VW's automatic transmission. It had a ceramic fuse near a vent in the rear of the engine and when it rained or snowed that fuse would get wet and blow and the transmission wouldn't shift. Good times to be stranded on the road!

My first "ride" ever was my 1988 Boston Whaler 15 Super Sport. I saved up $2,000 from my oversized paper route and my Mom/Dad matched my $2k. Paid $4k and sold it 4 years later for $7k.

My first car was in 2000 when I was 16. It was my parents 1993 Ford Explorer. It was big dumb and slow, but whatever, I could put like 6 friends in it.

My first car I ever purchased on my own was 2 weeks before my 18th birthday, a 1995 BMW M3. Silver/black, vader seats, 17s, heated seats, nice ride.

Isambard, my father still has his 1962 TR3b. He used to drive it all over San Diego back in the day (he just celebrated his 62nd birthday on 1/11/11) as he was in the Navy.
