1952 Ford, flathead V8, 3 speed stick 'on the tree'...
Looked ugly, ran barely ok, burned considerable oil, etc.
Had shot shifter forks, bad compression, and on and on...

I think I paid $300 for it, circa 1963, which was semi-serious dough for a
high school kid then. Drove it a year and sold it for the same price. Too long ago;
I can't recall many details, except for the fun times at the Oak Drive-In.

Pics of what that famous Ford V8 motor and the car, in much better condition
than mine ever was, looked like:

1966/67 Peugeot 404 sedan purchased in 1975 for $900. I towed my road-racing motorcycles all round the country with it. It never missed a beat. A fantastic touring car that handled well, rode well and was quiet and comfortable. It started a long love affair with Peugeots.

My first car was a POS stripped-down 1989 Toyota Corolla. It would shake like crazy once you drove over 55 mph. I did manage to get it on 3 wheels doing donuts in my high school parking lot though.

In 1996 when I was 16, my grandpa gave me his fram truck. It was a Red (faded to pink) Ford F250. There was not 1 square inch on that bad boy that was strait. It was beaten and abused, and my grandpa is the classic hard ass old man. It only had 20,000 org miles...... But they were all farm miles. lol.

First car was a 1954 Ford Fairlane. She had a 254 c.i. V8. Special note was that this was the first year Ford had come out with overhead valves; ergo, Valve Covers.

1972 VW Super Beetle that my dad bought new in Amsterdam and shipped back to the States after about 9 months in Europe. I sold it in '83 for $12 less than he paid in '72.
Good old inflation will do that...
