It was 1977 when I fixed up a scrap 1968 Mini 850cc! It was running and seemed indestructable no matter what I did with it, but badly rusted when I got it. It was fire engine red and I painted the roof white. It had sliding windows and HUGE 10" wheels. But it was as fast around corners as in a straight line and I avoided having to take the bus to school or ride my Triumph Bonneville in winter :-)

By the time I graduated from engineering I'd gone thru another Mini, a 1300cc beetle, three Datsuns and I wound up drivng a BMW 2002 from 1975. I guess that's why I still drive BMWs even after having had a couple of 911s, a Benz M, an Audi Allroad and an MR2.

Mine had quite a bit of grunt--but then you needed it to pull around 6 billion pounds of steel.

We used to call it the snowman killer.

my first car, 2002 bmw X5 3.0i .got it for 13k with 86k miles so it was practically a steal(until i figured out what was wrong with it).fixed it up to a decent point along with a few mods.My parents didn't like the idea of me being a typical 16 year old with a sports car so they put me behind this tank instead.kinda like the idea now considering every kid i know with a sports car managed to put a dent in it(mustangs, lancers, etc) or worse all by themselves.o yea did i mention im still 16?

1972 Olds Cutlass Supreme

In 1982, my first car was a 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 2 door hardtop 350 and would run like a scaulded dog.... Original owner was a little old lady that only drove it to Church on Sundays. Extremely nice and well cared for 10 year old car with 80k miles... (8k miles per year) I paid $2500 for it.

Congratulations on a great start... You set the bar too high, now you will be having to spend all your money on nice cars. I have had so many different cars I can't remember the first. My best guess would be a Suzuki Samurai Green Convertible A huge stereo system; and yes it was perfect for the outings to the beaches in Guatemala. My dad had a car dealership there so I was always in something different. Loved growing up there.
