Need rear tail light assembly for 01 X5

My driver's side tail light has burnt through the contact board beyond repair. Does anybody out there have an extra assembly for sale? Thanks!

I was gonna post a link to a "how to" or an article on how to fix this problem...
But there isn't one! That doesn't seem right for such a common issue...

Somewhere in the forum history is a thread that shows how to fix the problem with a cheap soldering iron.
In my case the damage was so bad that the plastic that supports the contact board had melted away and I had nothing to support it.
I basically filled the burned out hole on the board with a few drops of soldering material, filed it down with my dremel and supported the contact board with plumbers putty (easy to mold and hardens fast). Took 30 mins to do, and I'm no mechanic.

It's a common problem that's so cheap to fix. But will cost you plenty if you have to replace the entire assembly.

good luck

Rui

It takes less time to install the LED tails than to repair the problematic crappy looking tails IMHO. Do a search on eBay, for Zomkspeed - they sell LED tails for E53 for under $200, takes less than an hour to install and alot easier than trying to repair the old.
