X5 4.8 Rear Spolier Help

I have a face lift (2006) 3.0d and bought off ebay the front bumper and rear spolier off a 4.8is. I already have the running boards, 20" wheels and wheel arch kit already fitted and managed to fit the front bumper on over the weekend which looks wicked!! But..... I have the standard rear bumper and the rear spoiler has tabs in it which looks like I have to either drill holes in the old bumper so these tabs slot in (1 on each end and 3 in the middle) or snap them off and pray that the bolts hold it in place!!
Has anyone done this retro fit before, a few people have spoke about it but I cant find how it's done!!!

All you need is to use self tapping screws..
I did mine ages ago and if I remember correctly, its 4-5 screws on the bottom and 2 on each side.
To place the sides evenly ,I even used some spacers with the screws

Yes..you have to snap them off because the 4.8 is bumper has slots that these clip on to ,but yours doesnt.
You will find that just with self-tapping is sufficient,no need to glue it .
I have a pre-facelift and I fitted the 4.6is front spoiler and I also had to cut off all clips and to fix it I had no choice but to permanently glue it with black windscreen sealant..

There's a do it yourself article that discusses exactly this. I think it's the 4.6 spoiler, which is exactly the same

Just noticed you have a 3.0D Special Edition which has the flares kit.
Theres an ongoing thread about the flares here
http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...-arches-3.html

Can you see if the flare that goes on the bumper is clipped on,please?

Thanks mate.I can see the 2 bolts on the inside of the fender !Do you think this is the only thing securing the flare? Is it not clipped on the outside, like in the 4.8is flare?
